Golden lattes have taken over coffeeshops but often don’t include espresso, which makes no sense to me. That’s the whole reason I want a latte, right? So these golden lattes are still dreamy creamy, full of earthy turmeric and spicy ginger, but they still have that extra oomph that only comes from a shot of espresso. This is the all I’ll want when I’m curled up on the couch Friday morning.

Let’s talk about this magical recovery cocktail:
- Espresso because otherwise it just too dang easy to nap on the couch all day.
- Turmeric to soothe inflammation (and maybe lots of other good stuff? Science TBD but things look good!).
- Ginger to settle our stomachs and add some zing.
- Honey for antioxidants and a little sweetness to ease into the morning.
- Cinnamon for flavor and maybe lower blood sugar.
- Salt to help your body retain all that water you’re drinking (right?).

I’ll sing the praises of my stovetop espresso pot every day because it’s just so dang convenient. No big machine sitting out on the counter, just a cute little pot that makes rich, velvety espresso in minutes. Serious morning gamechanger.
If you don’t have some sort of espresso maker, just make a small batch of extra-strong brewed coffee and substitute an equal amount for the espresso. It might not get as frothy, but the flavors will be similar.
Do you have any post-Thanksgiving rituals? I’m hoping mine includes a huge blanket and crackling fire. Happy Thanksgiving!

Turmeric Ginger Golden Latte

- 1 inch ginger peeled
- pinch of cinnamon

Instructions
- Combine hot espresso, honey, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and salt in a high-powdered blender. (Alternatively, combine in a wide-mouthed mason jar and use an immersion blender.)

- Divide warm milk between two mugs. Slowly pour espresso mixture into each equally and stir gently, being careful not to destroy the foam.
