a little bit of real life, a few links from around the internet, and some meandering thoughts
as if we really were huddled together around the fire.
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about what visionaries like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would think of where we are today.
It feels good to realize we’ve come a long way. It still feels like there’s a long way to go.
Let’s love unconditionally. That feels right.
Cookbooks. My new favorite finds & upcoming releases:
The Love and Lemons Cookbook is less of a cookbook than it is a love letter to farmers markets and fresh, seasonal produce. Jeanine’s marvelous flavors and Jack’s gorgeous photography flowed seamlessly from their blog to this ‘Apple-to-Zucchini Celebration of Impromptu Cooking’. This casual, relaxed approach to building your meals from the freshest foods available is so inspiring while we work our way toward spring!
I was already exclaiming YES just two paragraphs into the introduction of Graze: Inspiration for Small Plates and Meandering Meals, as if I was chatting with a good friend who loves all the same things about food. This is a celebration of carefree, do-what-you-like recipes with beautiful photography and utterly charming anecdotes. Sharing the joys of feasting on flavors from all over the world in a single meal, wandering happily from one bite to the next, is the soul-warming deep comfort that I find in the kitchen.

Have a happy game day Sunday, whatever that means to you – we’ll be warming ourselves around the firepit and stuffing our faces with sausage rolls, guac, and za’atar olive hummus. Cheers!
