Soul-Filling with Friends (& Food)

Some things just fill your soul up to the brim.

This weekend I flew to Indianapolis to celebrate my best friend and spend good heart-connecting time with her whole bridal party. Dresses were said yes to, to-dos were crossed off, and mamas were celebrated all day Sunday.

So many moments reminded us that the right things fall into place at the right time. Significant others, jobs, what we want in life… the cure is long conversations with new & old friends over a few bottles of wine and soaking in hot tubs at midnight.

And of course eating good food. Always.

Breakfast Quiche & Fruit

We indulged in a pitcher… maybe two… of spicy habanero margaritas.

We stuffed ourselves silly with artichoke jalapeno dip and fancy breads and so much cheese.

There was lots of coffee and many many glasses of mimosas.

Carb Loading Pasta Night

We had spaghetti and turkey meatballs on Friday but someone made waaay too much pasta. (Who does that sound like? You get one guess.)

But it all worked out with an impromptu basil pesto pasta salad with cherry tomatoes that was absolutely killer. Right place, right time.

And on Sunday the very best chocolate chip cookies ever made a brief reappearance for the moms.

We Ate It All

I’ll get back in the kitchen with a new recipe later this week. Right now I’m still savoring good time with good people and simple cooking.

I hope you all had your own wonderful soul-filling weekends!
